Cintas Corporation Named One of America's "Most Trustworthy Companies"
Forbes ranks Cintas in the top 10 of Large Cap businesses

CINCINNATI, – March 26, 2014 — Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ:CTAS) today announced it has again been named to Forbes’ list of the “100 Most Trustworthy Companies in America.” Developed to highlight America’s most scrupulous organizations, the list recognizes transparency in accounting and governance. Ranked eighth in the Large Cap category, this is the third time Cintas has received the honor since Forbes began the list in 2008.

“Honesty and integrity are at the core of our business, and we are honored to be recognized by Forbes as one of the most trustworthy organizations in the U.S.,” said Scott Farmer, CEO of Cintas. “This honor was made possible by the dedication and commitment of our employee-partners, and I am extremely proud of each and every one of them.”

To develop the ranking, GMI reviews the accounting and governance behaviors of more than 8,000 publicly-traded companies in North America. In assessing each company, GMI considers factors including high-risk events, revenue and expense recognition methods, SEC actions and bankruptcy risk as indicators of a company’s credibility.

James Kaplan, director at GMI ratings, originally started the list following the collapse of corporate superpowers Enron and WorldCom. According to Forbes writer Kathryn Dill, Kaplan wanted to find a way to identify nefarious corporate behaviors and, at the same time, spotlight companies who abstained. The result was a ranking of the 100 Most Trustworthy Companies in America.
